both broke within 6 months
Edit: My original post is below, here is an update. BOTH stopped working with in 6 months, the uv lights do not turn on and the the fans stopped functioning. One of them just doesn't turn and the other makes a wretched loud nose. Spend a little more and buy something more reliable!
Pro:It seems as though they are working because when I walk it the house instead of it smelling like I have two dogs, all I smell is fresh air.
You ever wake up in the morning and see all the dust flying in the air when the sunlight is coming through your window?.... I used to but now it's not there, no more floating specs!
minor con: The only downside to these units is there is always a fan blowing when unit is on, where most other ionic filters don't actually blow and are pretty much silent. I can hear the fans at night one of them even more so but if you don't mind a little white noise they are awesome. However the fact that one is already acting up does worry me about the...
think small
I should of paid more attention to the size of these units. They are considerably smaller than I had expected. I have both units running in my living room. If the rods are any inclination they do trap dirt and sticky "residue" from the air. Since we have 3 small dogs and two smokers in the house I did expect there to be more on the rods and filters after a week. I would advise using them in small areas were they don't have to deal with excessive amounts of air pollution. I will still have to look for larger units for the house.
Great product
I can't say enough about this product. As it state in it's discription, and more. I put this unit in my living room and with in hours I could feel the difference.
